The Experts

Ed Swedberg

Ed Swedberg recently joined the Government Partners, LLC team as a senior consultant. He has a broad range of executive experience in the areas of public sector leadership, technology, program management, outsourcing, business process improvement, government procurement, organizational change, public policy and regulatory environments. Since 2012, Mr. Swedberg has served as the Deputy Executive Director and Acting Executive Director for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. In that role, he developed and executed agency-wide goals, strategies, policies, and rules. Mr. Swedberg began working for the State of Texas in 2007 as the Assistant Director of Innovation and Technology for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts. In 2009, he moved to the Texas Department of Information Resources in the role of Deputy Executive Director. In his first career, he served nearly 24 years on active duty in the United States Air Force in the specialty areas of technology, intelligence and space. He retired as a full Colonel in 2006, after serving in his final assignment as the Commander of the nearly 1300 airmen, civilians and contractors of the 45th Mission Support Group at Patrick AFB and Cape Canaveral AFS in Florida. Mr. Swedberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He also holds Master’s degrees from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in Military Art and Science and from the Air War College at Maxwell AFB, Alabama in Strategic Studies. Mr. Swedberg graduated from the University of Texas System Basic Police Officer Academy at the top of his class in 2016 and is a commissioned state police officer.
