Toben F. Nelson, Sc.D., will discuss the impact that good policies have on affecting student’s binge drinking on college campuses. Dr. Nelson is with the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health's Division of Epidemiology and Community Health. He works with the Alcohol Epidemiology Program, the Tobacco Policy Research Program, the Minnesota Population Center, the Minnesota Obesity Center, and the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sports. He also co-directs the Harvard School of Public Health College Alcohol Study (CAS).
Prior to joining the faculty of the University of Minnesota, he was a researcher with the Harvard Prevention Research Center and the Harvard Injury Control center. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and Physical Education from Hamline University, a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a doctorate in Public Health from Harvard University.
